Roman stone monuments in Bastion VI
The Roman lapidarium of the Danube Region Museum is housed in Bastion VI of Komárno's fortifications. The exhibition presents Roman stone monuments, including gravestones, altar stones, sarcophagi and fragments.
Many exhibits are linked to Brigetio and Kelemantia on opposite banks of the Danube. A visit therefore complements a trip to the Roman camp near Iža. The bastion itself adds the experience of fortress architecture to the ancient collections.
