Behind the walls of Komárno Fortress
The fortress at the confluence of the Danube and Váh is a striking reminder of Komárno's defensive history. Its scale is best appreciated on a guided tour, which adds stories and historical context to the architecture.
The main gate can be approached from Hradná Street on foot, by bicycle or by car. The ticket office is in the barracks building and entry is through Leopold Gate. According to the operator, the car park in front of the fortress also accommodates coaches.
