The town hall as a stop on your city walk
The town hall on General Klapka Square took on its present appearance in 1875. Earlier town hall buildings were repeatedly damaged by disasters, including the major earthquake of 1763. The tower houses a hussar figure associated with the square's musical programme.
You can put together a walking circuit including the Holy Trinity Column, the Courtyard of Europe and Palatínova Street. The neighbouring Zichy Palace houses exhibitions of the Danube Region Museum. Tourist information can help with a more detailed itinerary and current visiting options.
