Along the Danube embankment and on to the watermills
The Slovak section of the Danube Cycle Route runs from Bratislava towards Štúrovo, much of it along the embankment. The original guide also highlights the area around Číčov and the Danube's branches, where an active outing meets the natural surroundings of Žitný ostrov.
Another suggested ride is a loop from Veľký Meder through Okoč, Topoľníky, Dunajský Klátov, Jahodná and Tomášikovo. The flat terrain makes it possible to plan gentler stages and add stops at watermills.
